The city of Desvres, from which the name of our company originated, owes its influence to the porcelain and earthenware production. The first earthenware art factory was established in the city in 1764. The Fourmaintraux factory, led by a dynasty of ceramists, acquired a national fame by replicating and interpreting hand-painted traditional decors. Building on this family know-how, one of the family’s brothers introduced in 1863 the creation of earthenware tiles, to his art factory. The DESVRES company was officially born. More than 150 years of existence and keeping the same guideline: producing quality tiles in an ever changing and more and more demanding environment. DESVRES keeps on innovating, on moving forward and competing. DESVRES creates, surprises and has developed a strategy which has allowed to reach new heights.
